We got a new year card!

This morning Unclclcel Kevin brought us an envelope that had come from the postman. It had a really exciting stamp on it from Merica. It said California.
When we opened it we found a lovely card that said hope we had a lovely Christmas and wishing us a hoppy new year!

It was from our lovely friend @pinkbunnyr who we met on Twitter. It had a picture of her and Grey Rabbit on it. What a nice surprise!

Merry Crispmouse!

We are having a lovely Christmas. It all started when we got emails from Santa Claus. We had to download letters online and they were really good.

Then we got a parcel from our friends in Merica and there was lots of food and games and things to put on the tree. We like the goldfish. He's on the tree now.

When we woke up this morning we found our stockings had been filled up overnight when Santa called.

There was lots of good things to eat in the stockings, and an orange. Mitch liked the orange though.

He got nuts and an orange in his stocking too. He really liked those.

When we got downstairs there were loads more presents to open. It took nearly two hours for everybody to open them but we took turns and opened one at a time so we could all enjoy them.

Me and Bamburgh got new shirts with Christmassy things on them. Don't we look smart?

Happy Christmas everybody!

We have had a nice day

We've had a really nice day today. First of all me and Moo got dressed up as Santas. He's got a full Santa outfit including welly boots but I wore my Christmas jumper and a hat.
First of all we went to do some shopping at our favourite farm shop at Denstone. Mummy wanted to get some bacon and some sausages for Christmas.

We went to the cafe and had a mince pie. It was yummy. We had hot chocolate too.

And then we went and met Santa! How cool is that? We told him we'd been good and he said we could have nice stuff when he comes to see us down our chimney. He told us a story about a brave man who rescued some sailors from drowning who's going to get a medal.

And then to top it off we got to go for a burger at our local diner and we introduced Dewi to curly fries. He'd never had them before. What a lovely time we had!

Mysterious paper dragon

I am in love with a stranger. I don't know who she is but she's been putting these wonderful paper sculptures all over Edinburgh and making some of them out of Ian Rankin books and you know how much mummy likes him!

But the reason I'm in love is because one of her lovely sculptures is this:

She is obviously a dragon friendly lady (and very very talented) and so I love her. Even though I don't know her and neither does anyone else because it's a secret.

Click on the picture to make it bigger so you can read what it says because she must have heard about me because it says 'in the dragon was a story' and I have lots of stories.

You can find out more about it here . Now I need to tell mummy that I want to go to Edinburgh to see the dragon who lives in the Scottish Storytelling Centre.

Big mushrooms

We went out for a long walk in the woods today and we found this really pretty mushroom. Mummy said we weren't to touch it though, because it isn't really a mushroom it's a toadstool and it's poisonous. But isn't it pretty?

I have mushrooms on my shirt. Some of them are spotty too.

Happy Halloian Samhain

We are having Hallo Ian party because it is Samhain. We are all dressed up as scary things.

I am a zombie and Dexter is a mummy and Moo has a scary pumpkin head mask on. It glows in the dark.

Dewi is a pumpkin and Morris has a ghostie costume with Boo on the front. They've claimed the chocolate pumpkins too.

Bamburgh is a zombie and Bill has a spidery headdress on as well as having his ratty Squeak on his shoulder.

Here's a closeup of Moo's mask for you. And can you see my spare ghostie head on my shoulder?

Happy Hallow Ian and Samhain to everybody!

A day in London

We have been in London today on a long weekend and we have been to see lots of stuff. We took Dewi and Dexter to see the Queen but she wasn't home so we just looked at her house instead.
While we were there we met these two people called Jean and Dave who were visiting the queen's house too. It was good to see them.

Then we went shopping and found these wonderful carved pumpkins in a shop window called Fortnum's. Mummy said we can't afford to shop there - only look in the windows.
Mummy has made Dewi a new jacket to go with the t-shirt that Bamburgh gave him. It's a really smart jacket and has pointy collars so that it looks like a vampire coat. It's really good for Hallo Ian.

We went to see VandA again too. It's a good place for dragons because there are lots there.

Back at the hotel we had a Hallo Ian treat. They look like witches' fingers but they're biscuits really.

Gone away

There is a big fair in our village and it gets in the way so Mummy said we could go on holiday and we are in London! Isn't that exciting? We are staying at a hotel until the fair goes away tomorrow.
We saw a museum today and there was a really funny motorbike that was all pink and it had a teddy bear on the back. There was a sign that said his name was Pinny and he enjoys living in the museum because he likes people watching and lots of people come to see him.

We got a letter!

We were really excited today because we got a letter. Dewi and Rolly were really pleased because it had Welsh writing on it. They are both from Wales, although Rolly is from Cardiff and Dewi is from Snowdonia so we get a bit confused with the language.

We liked the letter because there was a dragon on the stamp. That meant it was from Wales. That's Cymru in their language. We are all learning North Welsh but we're not very good yet. It's very hard and when you live in England you don't hear much Welsh so you don't get much practice.

The letter was from our friend Llechi and his angel Mummy. He's the reason we want to learn Welsh because we want to talk to him in his language. He's a slate miner and he lives in a place called Blaenau Ffestiniog and he works at a mine called Llechwedd.

The card was for Samhain. That's Hallowe'en but it isn't Welsh it's an old magic word.

Dragonfest Two

We went back to Welsh Wales and had a weekend at a place called CarandVan that had a HUGE castle that we went round.

On the way there we stopped off at Llechi's mine and had a mini dragonfest. We met all his family this time and there are almost as many of them as there are of us. Even counting the cows! Llechi's Human asked mummy if we could adopt a new dragon because she had found one in a shop and he was the last one there and was very lonely. She said she knew he would have a good life with us and so we have a new brother and he's called Dewi and he's still a bit shy. Bamburgh's looking after him though. They're about the same size so they get on well. Bamburgh even said he could have one of his old t-shirts. Mummy says she'll make him some clothes of his own soon though.

Mummy knitted a jumper and a scarf for Llechi because it is very cold down the mine and winter's coming and we were worried in case he got poorly. It looks very good on him. It's really his colour. That stripy scarf should keep him warm!
As we were driving from Dragonfest Two to the Carandvan place we had to go over the railway line and we saw a special train that had a steam engine on it.

The castle was very huge but it was raining so we had to find places to shelter like this overhanging bit in the wall. There were lots of corridors and towers and staircases and things as well. It was all very histgoric and exciting.

We stayed in a hotel that didn't have internet but it did have a big tele and we got to watch Merlin while mummy and Unclclecle Kevin went off to have Greek dinner. We called out for pizza because mummy was silly enough to leave her phone behind!

The dragon was in this Merlin episode so it was good!

Seaside seaside!

It has been nice and sunny today even though it's supposed to be nearly winter but it's not behaving like that. So we went to the seaside for the day. It was huge fun!

There was a really clever steep railway thing that we got to ride on to go up the cliff. It was exciting.

ON the way home we stopped near a place called Beverley (silly name for a town!) and we met this bear who was lost in a shop. The shop lady was looking after him until his people come to find him but he looked very sad. Does anyone recognise him?

Moo's Birthday

Today was Moo's birthday. To make life easy all the Moos have the same birthday so we don't have to remember and we have a HUGE party to celebrate together. From the left that's Rolly, Moo, Bill and Morris. If you look carefully you can see Squeak in Bill's hood. Squeak's a rat. Bill loves him a lot and carries him round all the time.

When they'd opened all their presents they had a huge pile of swag. We bought them the Merican sweeties (candies). We're having hot dogs and trifle for tea.

Victorian fish and chips

There is a big Mooseum in a place called after a big bridge near another place called after the engineering man and we go there sometimes for fish and chips because mummy and Unclclecle Kevin say that the fish and chips where we live are a naughty word. It's an hour drive from home but we don't mind because we get good fish and chips when we are there.

We have been to the Mooseum before and put pictures on here about it.

Further round in the Victorian village there is a bank like the one where our friend Llechi dragon (@LlechweddDragon) works at his Mooseum except it isn't the same it's taller and doesn't have nice windows.

After we went to the village bit of the Mooseum we went to another bit all about making clay pipes. Silly people used to use them to smoke filthy stuff and make themselves smell but the pipes were good and we saw a nice man called Rex making them.

Some of them had dragon claws on them!

PS. I should have said and Hammie reminded me.... Nice Mr Rex said that you don't have to smoke his pipes. You can blow bubbles with them if you like.

The end of dragonfest

We've had a great time in Wales. We've been staying with our friend Idris at his cottage in Snowdonia and we got to meet our friend Llechi (that's Welsh for slate and he works in a mine. It was really interesting)

To mark our last night we had a party in the shed and we had the sparkly lights on. Everyone was there. You can watch the slideshow at the top of the page.

Dragonfest on the road

We went for a day out today and decided to take Idris's greeter dragon with us as a treat for being so welcoming and kind. We let him ride up front in the special dragon seat.

We went to a pretty village that had lovely shops in it and we found this rather proud looking dragon defending one where they sold wooden things.

Then we went for a walk and heard about a very brave dog who saved his boss's baby from a wolf but his boss got it all wrong and stabbed him with a sword before he realised. The dog was called Gelert and he was so famous that they called the village after him.

On the way to see the brave dog Baa saw lots of sheep in a field and he tried to talk Welsh to them but they ignored him.
"Bore daaaaaaaaaa!"

Then we went for a drive through the mountains and we saw lots of big pointy hills and it was a long way up and all the way down again.

The biggest mountain was called Snowed On and it was so high that the top was in the clouds!

Then we went to a place called Car and Van or something and there was a big castle. Baa thought he would like to live near it because it had a lush grass lawn.
