Our weekend started really well because we got an enormous parcel from Merica from Auntie Kate and The Hand and George and Gund and Nigel who sent us loads of stuff and Moo thought the Moo Doo was really funny. We haven't eaten any of those yet (they are jelly beans really) but we tried the snowman doo and they were dead good!
We thought the weekend couldn't get any better and then Mummy said we were going to Scardeburg to stay in a hotel overnight and see the sea. We went to play on the penny slot machines that cost tuppence and we had a really successful time because we won loads of swag. I got all this stuff and mummy got a watch and a garden gnome. It was only a little gnome and it will end up in a houseplant pot. The pink jewel is for my hoard. All dragons have a treasure hoard and the last time we went to the seaside I won a big pink jewel. This can go with it. I think I shall let Dewi have the blue jelly bean though because he has a big bag to keep his stash in and it's not very full.
Today we went for a long walk by the beach and it was very blowy so we sheltered under this iron thing and just enjoyed the view. You can't really see very much except the hill where the castle is and the pier. There's a lighthouse too but you can't see it in this photo.
We all had our warm clothes on because it was dead cold! I had my snowball jumper on and that was a good thing because it snowed yesterday! Bamburgh had his thick jumper and a scarf on, and Dewi had lots of layers all the way up to his body warmer. He had a scarf on too, with a snowflake pin that he got for christmas. It was really suitable for this weekend because it was cold but it was good fun too.
I hope you all had good weekends as well.

Happy birthday to me! (And Bamburgh)
Today is my birthday. I am six. Which is actually quite grown up if you realise that's dragon years. My brother Bamburgh has his birthday today as well, and he is six too. Even though he wasn't born until September.
We both share because today is Midsummer's Day and it is fun to have a summer birthday.
The photo of me was taken the day that Mummy adopted me. Wasn't I young and fluffy?

Ruthie's here!
Do you remember that I said Ruthie was coming to stay with us? Well she arrived last night, but Mummy had to go to work today and so we went to the office with her and took Ruthie along so that she wouldn't be at home on her own all day.
The first thing we had to do was sort out a coat for Ruthie because it has been raining really really hard here and Mummy said she might go soggy if she got wet and so we made her a rain poncho to help keep dry. We let Bamburgh do the styling because he's the one who's good at fashion and stuff (even though Dexter used to be a model in a shop, Bamburgh's the one with the design talent). We think that Ruthie looks good in her new coat, what do you think?
Well we got to the office and there wasn't much for us to do so we showed Ruthie round and I didn't know that Mummy has all these pictures of us next to her desk but she does. She says it makes the day go faster if she can look at us sometimes. I wondered where all my Moo cards went and now I know but I don't mind because if it helps Mummy that's a good thing.
We were going to take Ruthie into town at dinner time to see Robin Hood but it was raining really really hard and even the coat that Bamburgh made wouldn't have kept her dry and so we stayed in and looked at the view but the car park isn't very interesting. There are students living in the house on the other side of the car park and their yard is really really messy so we tried not to get that in the photo. Maybe we should have because at least that's interesting.
There are lots of animals where mummy works because that's what she does, all about animals that get used in science labs and why they shouldn't be and we agree. We think it's horrid that people do nasty things to animals even if it's to make new drugs and things because animals aren't like people and so the tests are probably all wrong anyway. So the office has lots of plush (which is why we like going there because there's always loads of people to talk to) and we introduced Ruthie to them and I think she liked meeting them because she had a big smile.
To use up some more time we played with the stuff on Mummy's desk and we got all tangled up in the paper clips and made long strings out of them and Mummy was a bit upset because she said she would have to undo them all again but we liked it because there were pretty coloured ones and stripy ones as well and Ruthie was good fun because she helped us to make the strings.
And we learned something today as well called ee-vole-oo-shun and it's all to do with where we come from and there was a big chart on the wall but it didn't have any dragons on it so I don't think it's quite right but Mummy says an important man called Darwin sorted it all out and he was good at it so it was right except he didn't know about dragons and so he just left us out.
Mummy says tomorrow is a day off so we can take Ruthie somewhere interesting but I quite enjoyed going to the office and I hope she didn't mind that it was raining and stuff.

Have you heard of Flat Ruthie?
We found out about a cardboard person who is travelling the world and visiting people and we invited her to stay with us and she has agreed to come and see us. Isn't that great?
Her name is Flat Ruthie and she is Merican and she has been to 10 countries and 23 states, which is more than we have. I don't know when she will get here. I just know that she is on her way, but I don't know how far she has to travel. She has recently been to San Diego. That's in Merica.
We shall take her to see some places round here. If she arrives when we go on holiday we shall take her to Wales, but otherwise we might have to show her bits of England. I hope she'll enjoy it.

We have been to Yorkshire
The weather was properly hot and me and Bamburgh had to stay in Mummy's handbag a lot of the time because we are both red and we fade easily but when it was shady we could get out.
We went for a ride on a boat on a canal and it was OK for all of us to get out because there was a shady shelf to sit on. We could look out of the windows a bit too because we went along the canal and back again so the sun was on the other side of the boat sometimes.
It was good fun because we hve never been on a canal boat before. We have been on boats because we took a water bus when we went to Cardiff to see if we could find Dr Who but canal boats are different. They are long and narrow and we were lucky because we got to sit right at the front for this trip.
After we went on the boat we had fish and chips and ice cream and we stayed in the pub and then the next day we went to another town where they make beer and we went to see the brewery. They have a special place where they make barrels to put the beer in and the lady who showed us round said that Master Cooper worked there but it was his day off so we just looked at his workshop.
Then we got the best bit because they give beer away at the brewery and they had special plush-sized glasses for us to drink out of. Mummy said we could have a taste because we are all big plush but the little guys had to do without because they are so small and it wouldn't be good for them.

Day out without dragons
But anyway she was feeling better today and it is Unclclelcle Kevin's birthday soon and he had a voucher for a milkshake and so we went to see our friends at the diner.
We are very lucky because the diner is near where we live and so we can have burgers and curly fries and things like that any time we like (except when mummy isn't well) but this morning we had breakfasty things.
There were fried eggs and bacon and hash browns and pancakes and syrup and coffee and Uncleclecle Kevin had sausages too but he didn't have pancakes. He had a HUGE milkshake though, and it had banana in it but he let us have some of the lumpy bits from the bottom because they get stuck up the straw if you try to suck them.
When we had finished breakfast we went to Birmingham because they were having a special event because a man wrote a book about elves and hobbits a long time ago and there were people dressed up in silly costumes and pointy ears and stuff and they said there would be dragons but we didn't see very many. In fact I think we were the only ones there.
We found a picture of one that was on a thing called a barefoot walk. People were walking along this thing that had all different surfaces on it like mats and sand and pebbles and it said that it was good for you but I don't know what all the fuss was about because we never wear shoes and we are always barefoot. Maybe that was why there was a picture of a dragon on it.
When we realised there weren't any proper dragons mummy was a bit disappointed and so were we but we decided to make it right and we bought mummy a present. It was a bookmark with a dragon on it and she likes bookmarks. It's a very elegant looking dragon and I wish I could be like that sometimes but mummy says I'm cute and that's better than elegant.

DRAGONFEST!
We have come to Welsh Wales to visit our friend Idris Bach at his cottage in Snowdonia and we are having a dragonfest! We've brought everyone with us because Welsh Wales is the land of the red dragon and we always feel at home here.
On the way we stopped off at somewhere called Rug Chapel only the Welsh Wales people pronounce it 'Rig' because they talk a different language from us. (Although all dragons can understand each other even the Chinese ones)
Rug chapel is very pretty.
There are lots of lovely carvings.
And there was a special plush-sized seat near one of the posh windows.
That's me and Dexter and Mitch (he's not a dragon, he's an orang utan) and my brother Bamburgh.
Round the corner from the chapel was a farm shop like Denstone only Welsh and they had a big cow sculpture so Unclclclecle Kevin took Moo's and Morris's and Bill's and Rolly's picture sitting near it.
Well anyway. We got to the cottage eventually and here we all are with Idris's greeter dragon. (Idris lives in the boiler downstairs)
This is Welton (the big green one) and Nessie (the pink one) and Ginger (the pale blue one) and Marfleet (another green one with yellow bits) and Rhys Ruthin (the big red one) and Dexter (the green one in the blue jumper) and Draby (the purple one) and Ddraig Denbigh (the red one) and Bamburgh in his new black jacket and Me in my new brown pants and Sandy the little guy.
Baa made friends straight away because there are friendly sheep here too.
We are going to have a good holiday.

Holiday time at the seaside
Mummy and Unclcleclecleclelclcle Kevin have brought us to the seaside for a little holiday. It's been raining all the time but we don't mind cos we've had fish and chips and ice cream and pizza and stuff. And chocolate and all sorts of nice things.
We had a ride on a Batman car and mummy had a go on a machine that let her win a plush dolphin. It's not a real dolphin or it would need to have water to live in. It's a fluffy blue one.

Scales
Some people say that dragons are scaly and they mean our skin but me and Bamburgh were scaly this weekend in a different way. We went to a really cool museum and we found these old fashioned weighing scales!

The museum was about how they make tiles and there was a pretend butcher's shop with pictures of cows on the tiles at the back but we were more interested in the food. It looked like we were in for a nice breakfast untill we found out it was all made of wax and plaster and stuff.
In the end we got croissants and cake so we didn't mind too much!

Five questions
My friend @blindmaximus posted some questions on his blog and asked people to answer them. It's part of a game that @kolo-martin is playing and you're supposed to answer the questions then set five of your own that five other people have to answer. But I like Maximus's way of doing it so I'm just going to post mine here and let people do it if they want to.
The five I have to answer:
1) How did you get your name?
Don't know. It's just my name. It means sort of secret and hidden and it's a bit magical and I'm a dragon so it suits me.
2) How do you feel about baths?
I don't like them much but sometimes I have to have one because my muzzle gets mucky.
3) What is your favorite food?
Well pizza's good. and hot dogs. And we like nunnion rings and really anything that we can get from our favourite diner though we like picnics and barbecue and stuff when we're camping too. And ice cream.
4) If you could have any animal sibling, what would you pick?
Well I've got cow cousins and they're pretty cool.
5) On a scale of 1-10, 1 being "roses" and 10 being "kill you dead" how bad do your farts stink?
I'm a dragon! 15!! LOL
And five more:
1) How old are you (in human years)?
2) If you could go anywhere in the world that you've never been where would you go?
3) What's your favourite thing on TV?
4) Food or sleep?
5) Do you have any lucky charms, and if so, what are they?

Hello World!

For those of you who don't know me I'm Eldritch the Dragon. I'm a red plush dragon and I live with my brother Bamburgh, Mummy, Unclcclecle Kevin, Moo, Morris, Bill and loads of other people.
We travel round a bit and see loads of great things and do all sorts of interesting stuff except when Mummy makes us do history and I take photos to put on Flickr and I paint and draw and I've just started writing about it so that's why I have a blog.
I hope that I can meet lots of exciting people online here. I already know some people and I'll probably introduce you to them as I get settled in. But I just thought I'd say Hello for now.
Hello!
